Restore. Correct. Shine – Professional Paint Correction
Over time, your vehicle’s paint can develop swirl marks, fine scratches, oxidation, and water spots, leaving it looking dull and neglected. These can be caused by improper washing techniques, environmental factors, and daily wear and tear. Our goal with paint correction is to remove 60%-90% of these defects and restore your vehicle’s paint to a deep, mirror-like shine.
Many detailers simply hide imperfections with glazes or waxes. We permanently remove them by carefully polishing and refining your paintwork. Depending on the condition of your paint and your desired results, we offer different levels of correction, from a light polish to an intensive multi-step process.
While the goal is maximum correction, not all imperfections can be completely removed. Some scratches may be too deep to safely polish out without compromising the integrity of your clear coat. Our expertise allows us to make the right judgment call, ensuring that your paint not only looks its best but also remains in good health for years to come.
How the Paint Correction Process Goes
Whether it’s a luxury car or a daily driver, we go through the same process to ensure the best possible results.
1. Thorough Wheel & Tire Cleaning
Built-up brake dust, road grime, and dirt are removed from the wheels, tires, and fenders to restore a clean and fresh look.
2. Gentle Foam Hand Wash
We foam the vehicle down to loosen dirt and contaminants, followed by a careful hand wash.
3. Iron Fallout Removal (Decontamination)
An iron remover is used to remove embedded contaminants and iron particles in the paint, preparing the surface for correction.
4. Clay Bar Treatment
Removes any remaining embedded dirt, road tar, and debris. This step ensures that the paint is completely clean, smooth, and free of anything that could interfere with the correction process.
5. Trim Masking
Before machine polishing, we carefully tape off trim, rubber seals, emblems, and other sensitive areas to prevent polish buildup or staining.
6. Step 1 – Compounding (Cutting) Phase
Using a machine polisher, cutting pads, and a high-quality compound, we remove a majority of swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, and other imperfections from the paint.
7. Step 2 – Polishing Phase
The paint is refined further using a finishing polish. This step eliminates any remaining micro-marring from the compounding phase, leaving behind a smooth, high-gloss finish with incredible clarity and depth.
8. Paint Wipe Down & Inspection
Paint is wiped down to remove any remaining polishing oils or residue. This allows us to inspect the true condition of the paint and make any necessary final adjustments.
9. Paint Protection
Once the paint is corrected and looking its best, we apply a paint sealant or ceramic coating based on your choice.
10. Dressing of Tires, Trim & Plastic
To enhance the final appearance, we apply a non-greasy, even dressing to the tires and plastic trim. This step gives them a rich, dark finish that complements the freshly corrected paint.
11. Glass & Mirror Cleaning
We finish off by thoroughly cleaning all exterior glass and mirrors to ensure a crystal-clear view, free of streaks or smudges.
12. Final Inspection
A final walk-around inspection is done to ensure every detail meets our high standards. If any area needs extra attention, we make the necessary touch-ups for a flawless result.
Paint correction is a labor-intensive and highly detailed process that takes time and precision. Depending on the size and condition of your vehicle, this can take anywhere from a full day to multiple days to complete. The necessary time is taken to ensure the best results, never cutting corners or rushing through the job.
